MRL/BNSF C-EBMSPB0-26A assaults Winston Hill with the 840 Local following |
Description: |
Believe it or not, but the head-ends of two trains can be seen in this shot. Obviously the ExecuMacs of the coal train, but, if you look off to the left of the 9800's plow, you can see a dark mass. On examination of the full image on my computer, you can clearly see the headlights and front of the MRL 252! |

As I previously stated, the coal was going so slow, the "Helena Rocket" (my name for the 840) was able to catch up and follow behind at Restricted Speed. |

I don't think the Helens Rocket's crew expected to see railfans here as I noticed they increased their distance from the DPU a bit. |

I think the depot is leaning, because the train is on straight track! And the East Helena sign is nice and level. |

Here the 840 is returning from the Talc plant at Sappington with 4 MRL 8000-series boxcars in tow. I seem to recall my buddy saying that this was the fastest he had ever seen a train go on jointed rail. |
