This GP38-2 was, interestly enough, built for Penn Central as 7968. It survived into Conrail days as CR 7968 before being traded in (?) to EMD, where it became part of the EMD lease fleet and carried EMDX 768. It was later sold to UP as their 1924, later renumbered to 424, and finally sold off to LLPX. Thanks to http://www.trainweb.org/emdloco for the info. |
