Z63515
Title:  Z63515
Description:  While on CSX, the Ashland's train is CSX symbol Z635 (followed by the date, as with ALL CSX symbols) and has to make a reverse move to go from the Westbound Receiving Yard over to their own track. As you can see in the background, the Z635 has a "Restricting" signal for his crossover/backup move. Little did I know that, these units, were built for one of my favorite railroad, the Monongahela Railway. On the MGA the ASRY 2023 was the MGA 2003 and the ASRY 2024 was the MGA 2004. It's really spiffy knowing that these units are still around, as, when they were built, they were the heaviest GP38s built.

ASRY 2023
Title:  ASRY 2023
Description:  Roster shot of the 2023. Note that this unit and the 2024 are both still equipped with their as-delievered Oil Bath Air Filters, instead of the Paper variety. Also take note that the 2023 has no dynamic brake fan, and the opening plated over, as we will see in anthoer photogrpah.

ASRY 2023
Title:  ASRY 2023
Description:  See? No D/B fan! I know that, back when CSX still had their MOW locomotives painted in the all orange "Pumpkin" paint scheme, some of the units ended up like this. And whats the white little logo to the left of the radiator screens???

Title:  Southbound Ashland
Description:  We really got the "royal" treatment from these guys! We are standing in downtown Plymouth (home of the defunct Plymouth Locomotive Works) just north of the W&LE (former AC&Y) diamond. See? No D/B fan on the 2023! :)

Title:  Southbound Ashland
Description:  A fairly decent shot of how lovely the track is north of Salem. The engines are leaning the the left, while the cars are off to the right and everything is sitting at different heights, all that, and this is a straight pice of track that crosses Parcel Road.

Southbound Ashland
Title:  Southbound Ashland
Description:  After we got the COIP local, we headed on over to the CSX diamond to get him coming across. Here, we see him about to smack the diamond. I don't believe that there is a single diamond in the state of Maryland any longer, and the Ashland, a 70-or so mile operation, has three different locations with them!

Title:  Southbound Ashland
Description:  Again, we get the "royal" treatment with some somke coming from the GP38s. At this point, the track is apparently words better, as he was really cruising across Meyers Road, and for the remainder of the way to Mansfield

Description:  Just outside of Mansfield, the B&O (Ashland line to Willard) and PRR (NS Fort Wayne Line) parallelled each other for several miles. There is probably 100 to 150 feet between the lines at this location (Leppo Road crossing).
